Meet Pastor Jennifer Gold

Pastor Jennifer's greatest desire in life is to go where God is calling her.  When she was a sophomore in high school, she felt God calling her to become a pastor.  She’ll never forget how, when she told her Opa, he said: “Jennifer, when you become a pastor, you preach the Bible!”  Her Opa would be proud if he were still alive today, because she does exactly that.

Pastor Jennifer grew up in Aledo, Texas, where she participated in 4-H and FFA (raising rabbits, turkeys, lambs and swine).  She then attended Texas Lutheran University.  While at TLU, she was named “Miss Seguin” and went on to represent Seguin at the Miss Texas Pageant (where she won the Community Service Award).

Pastor Jennifer also met her husband, Chris Gold, at TLU.  They have been married for over 25 years.  He grew up in New Braunfels and is now a CPA at Valero.  They are blessed with two children—Zachary and Zane.

After graduating from TLU, Pastor Jen served as a youth pastor in Bandera for two years, sharing time between an Episcopalian and Lutheran church there.  She then obtained her Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. 

Thereafter, Pastor Jen returned to the San Antonio area to serve as Associate Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church.  She would stay at Zion for nine fruitful years until God called her to serve in global missions.  For the better part of the next decade, she led short-term missionary trips around the world to engage as many as possible in Christ’s Great Commission.  Pastor Jennifer and her family are excited to be part of Redeemer's church family now since 2021.

Pastor Jen believes the three most important aspects of pastoral leadership are spending time in God’s Word and in prayer, leading under the authority of God with honesty and integrity, and being a servant to others.  She leads as one being led by the Spirit.  When she's not in the church, Pastor Jen is off hiking or biking trails, hiking 14er mountains, kayaking, exploring National & State Parks, or crocheting, cake decorating, and most definitely hanging with her guys doing "guy things!"

Pastor Jennifer loves helping people to discover a closer relationship with Jesus wherever she goes!  Worship and preaching are the parts of pastoral ministry that Pastor Jen is most passionate about.  She loves creating an atmosphere where people of all ages, when they come to worship, can encounter the risen Christ.
